I had TV and radio aerials installed 30 years ago when my house was built. They've been working adequately since then, but a few weeks ago virtually all TV signals disappeared, leaving us without a Freeview service. Before calling Alan, I was pretty sure that there was a problem with the TV aerial or its connection to the cable. However, when he came along, Alan said that he would check the signals in and out of the distribution amplifier in the loft. He had a piece of impressive test equipment and used this to analyse the signals being received from the aerial. There was indeed a very low TV signal on the cable plugged into the amplifier UHF input port. However, he then performed the same tests on the cable that was plugged into the VHF port and it was providing a very strong TV signal! I felt very red-faced about this because it was clear that two the cables from the aerials had been plugged into the wrong input ports at some point.
Alan's diligence and expertise saved me the major expense of replacing the aerial and meant that he fixed the problem for me in super-quick time. Great service!
