IRS, an Integrated Reception System is a method by which one can distribute several different signal sources to multiple outlets via a single coaxial cable.
Typically, as in the example below for Coastal Place, a UHF Television, FM Radio and a D.A.B. Radio Aerial have been installed to receive the required signals. These signals together with those from a Satellite Dish are then fed into the 'Head End' and distributed throughout the 212 points.
Installing an Integrated Reception System gives the occupants freedom of choice on whether to watch Digital Terrestrial Television (Freeview) channels, BBC Freesat the non-subscription channels via satellite or a Sky subscription package also available via satellite, as well as being able to listen to FM Radio and Digital Audio Broadcasts (DAB) radio.
This solution means that by installing an IRS system it does not have to favour any one particular supplier of TV programming, the choice is left to the occupier.
IRS systems are equally suited to multiple dwelling units or single homes.
